According to a replacement study, the habit of working long hours isn’t safe in office.

A joint study by the planet Health Organization and therefore the International Labor Organization found that 2 million people worldwide die annually from diseases and injuries caused by overwork.

It’s shocking that numerous people die per annum due to their jobs,” said Tedros, director general of the planet Health Organization.

“Every job-related death are often prevented if proper health and safety measures are taken,” he said.

He said that quite 80% of job-related deaths are thanks to heart and respiratory diseases which increase in severity within the workplace.

He revealed that the majority of those deaths are thanks to the habit of working long hours, with an estimated 750,000 deaths annually .

The study checked out 11 unhealthy employment-related causes, including long-term employment, exposure to workplace pollution, exposure to carcinogens, and noise.

Eighty percent of those deaths are thanks to invisible diseases like heart condition or respiratory problems. The remaining 20% are accidental workplace deaths.

The most in danger are men over the age of 54, said Frank Pega, a technical officer at the planet Health Organization’s Department of Environment, global climate change and Health.

He said the price was highest in Africa, then in Indochina and within the West Bank .

He said that even in these areas, low or middle income countries are most affected.
